I currently work for a world wide company hauling crude in South Texas. I have plenty of TT and over a year of crude hauling experience with two companies. Like alot of people I keep looking for a company that either pays more has better benies or brings me closer to home.
I received a call today from a guy named Joel whom I placed a response to a CL add some 5 weeks ago that he had running in San Antonio heres his #Deleted STAY away from this flake period!! He isn't looking for drivers as his add states he's looking for suckers to give him $20k to own one of his trucks and tankers. He wants $20 k down 5K to 6k a month for 2 years plus 5% of gross. Once I heard his gas and said let me tell you about me and laid down my experience in business and as a driver he all the sudden had bad phone reception and had to go. I did a search on his number and this guy sells everything from scooters to advertising.
Bottom line there are alot of scams out there as is the case when there is a boom PLEASE DONT BE A SUCKER!
Here are two other companies to stay away from.
Crude Oil Drivers.
Who say they are looking for drivers but I believe they are nothing more than a new temp service for drivers. The guy barley speaks English and will tell you he is waiting on trucks but wants to process and qualify drivers in the meantime. This is nothing more than attempt to compile a roster of drivers. When asked to give a time frame for a start date he will say he does not know. Again SCUM BAG.
High Sierra from Denver CO.
The manager is a Jack Wagon.
Bottom line there is good money hauling crude and there are good companies out there don't fall into the bottom feeders. If your have TT experience top companies with train you or start you hauling water then move you to crude in six months. Or if you have both TT and Crude your Golden just be patient and selective especially if you have a good record both driving and criminal.

Thanks for the info. I haven't been in the oilfields yet...or any boomtown for that matter... but it is good for everyone to know that there are scams everywhere. That profession may be as old as the other one which is claimed to be the world's oldest..lol. Just pay attention and be careful of what you sign up for. anywhere there is money, there are people who would just as soon to take yours as work for their own.

I'm pulling my hair out... In Dilley, Texas now pulling a vacuum trailer for this company that is full of empty promises... Trying to get into hauling crude(I see tons in south Texas) but either Nooney hiring or they don't hav trailers... PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

There is a shortage of trailers to haul crude, as the manufacturers can't build them fast enough, and many of the new trailers are coming out with defects do to lousy workmanship... The company I work for has 5 new Heil trailers, all that have hauled less than 5 loads, that have leaks, broken welds... another large company here has a waiting list of drivers, as they can not get trailers...Many are converting diesel and gasoline tankers to haul crude.Big Duker Thanks this. -
Who are you leased to? Do they hav trailers available?

I work for Sun Coast in Corpus Christi and were hiring 70+ drivers right now! They're pouring concrete and expanding our yard to accomodate all the extra trucks. 2013 Macks (I think they're cheap) and 2012 heavy duty Pete's. A lot of our stuff is pretty beat up but still probably running the best overall fleet in the oilfield. I haul one or two well loads of condensate a night. 12-15 hrs with a minimum 10 hr guarantee. The extra trucks and drivers are supposedly for some new business. Mostly LACT work I think?? PM me if y'all have any questions. I'm not a recruiter, just a driver but we can split $1,000 referral bonus after 60 days. Company also offers you $2500 to relocate. That's how I ended up down here....
skeeterbud, sanook and HeWhoMustNotBeNamed Thank this.
