200 jobs is 200 jobs, and nobody is having their land "taken" it is being paid for often in royalties by the barrel. Why exactly do we not need the pipeline now as opposed to 8 years ago?

Hi. Across the pond in old Britain, BP and Shell have threatened to cut more than 600 jobs because of falling oil prices, so it's not just you guys in red county.

Just wow after reading the latest rounds of post. You know when i started here a gentlemen asked me a question. Hey young man, do you want to be right or do you want to be smart? "I was talking about buying a 60K Truck" He asked again, and I said I want to be smart. He said everyone thinks there right around here, and are right when making all these large purchases up till the bubble pops in this industry.

It ain't if its going to pop; but a matter of when its going to pop. He then said Save Your money and then you can decide to stick around during the lean times or be like the ones who were right to flaunt there money. The point I'm trying to make to you is that you want to decide your fate not have it dictated to you buy circumstances.

Strange thing about the truth if you got the ears to hear it. It grabs your attention span by the neck. Since that conversation I've never changed my lifestyle.
I've never purchased a new car and I have a debt total of 3K on a card; but I've managed to save $$,$$$ figures. So if the last light should happen to be dimmed out and I'm laid off. I have Enough to head for the door with a smile, and buy a truck of my own Cash, and put down on a House Near Lake Chelan WA.
It's only at these times that I realize that being Smart can really be truly right.

Countries like UAE and Saudi Arabia certainly don't need the money from their oil. They have more money than they could ever spend in 100 years. They could give oil away free for years and not get hurt that bad on it. At $10/ barrel they're still making a profit.

what they really are even more so than greedy is power hungry. To them crude oil is their industry and everybody else is just taking rice out of their bowl. A certain amount of this was acceptable to them but now they have made it clear they are not going to behave in an economically rational way but rather an economically vindictive way an will attempt to crush foreign production in North America, Russia, and really anybody who isn't OPEC.

That is EXACTLY what is going on. This is a blatant attempt by the Middle East to bankrupt America's energy industry. Russia and Venezuela are getting slammed by this, however, and I honestly don't think Venezuela's economy will be able to cope. There is already chaos going on down there, and there is talk of civil war and perhaps a coup d'état. Soon we shall see. And unfortunately (not trying to make this political,) our government is taking on much more important things. I read today that the supreme court is going to rule on gay marriage this year.

Remember, the royal families of OPEC only care about themselves... they have done this same thing many times before... it is their weapon of choice, and they can afford it.

If we wanted to we could push the Saudi's to knock it off, but our current administration will stop at nothing to destroy carbon fuels. We have a significant amount of leverage on the Saudi's, we are simply unwilling to use it.

Knock what off? Aramco is fracking gas wells like crazy. I realize that may not make sense, but they are spending millions, hell, maybe billions right now. Not so much on the crude side. The companies doing the fracking are western/american companies. And which Emirate are we talking about, Dubai had a teaspoon full of oil compared to Abu Dhabi.
