What's the deal with the red dye?
    Skypilotj, Yesterday at 10:30 PMR

Its off road diesel for use in power plants and drilling rig motors, pump motors, machinery, etc. no road tax added to the price, dyed red to detect it in road vehicles fuel systems, huge fine for running it in a road vehicle.

Some of the O/O running oil from West TX to East TX were complaining about the long drive back to West TX empty so they picked up an account hauling diesel back out that way to generate some extra revenue.

    Makes sense.
How many bbls of diesel can you haul in a 200 bbl tank trailer?
What is a run like that paying?
What companies are doing those runs?
What companies doing those runs hire O/O?
    Thanks.

60k for a driver? Texas is so easy

Nobody is working in the oilfield for $60K, not in Texas, not anywhere. Not even Schneider was paying that low when they had oilfield contracts!

Well Canada’s ( Alberta ) oilfield isn’t what it was like back in the day.

We are seriously contemplating bringing our trucks and trailers down to Texas, preferred ( or possibly North Dakota ) to keep them running all the time.

I just need to figure out all the legal paperwork first ...

I worked for an outfit out of North Dakota for a while. They thought they were gonna send a bunch of trucks to Oklahoma and start an entire new division of their company. Didn't work. They left out and went back to ND. The money down south and avalaible work is not any better than it is where you're at considering the cost to get down here.
