I do not have a separate brake light switch. I have 3 wires coming off of 2 post on the switch for the stop lights but that cant be for jakes/cruise if they are NC.

Is there a way to test the TPS?

Found the brake switch, it was up it the dash. Unhooked the leads and still nothing. Swapped in a known good TPS and nothing. I'm stumped

Do you have a computer to plug it into? That would show you the state of the switches and such.

I have a 95 379 that does the exact same thing. It's been hooked to the computer several time and the computer tells there's something wrong with the tachometer. It doesn't say anything about Jake switches at all.

    Hammer166 Thanks this.

I have the same problem on a 2000 379 my jakes only work on low and the cruise will engage but kicks off right away and I've already put a clutch switch

I would recommend getting it connected to a computer so you can see what the ECM is seeing and why it won't engage. Probably clutch switch wiring somewhere.

SAR, Diesel Dave and kwforage Thank this.

^^^^^ We have a winner. Hooked it to computer and one of the wires from clutch switch to ECM is bad. Just gotta find out where it's bad now.
