I agree the points are a little extreme for some of these things. The points should be given for tickets, not warnings or general inspections. There should also be a way to fight them, but there isn't.

Something some of the drivers don;t understand s they get these points and the carrier is hit with them. When the driver decides to move to another carrier, the points will not move with the driver, but the carrier can see how many points you caused for the carrier and that can keep you from getting hired. So you better think real hard on who you work for and the condition of your equipment. With no way to get relief on the points, they can literally put you out of work.

It is a system to track your failures. Nothing more or less.

    That is a lie.
They have all the authority they need to regulate the industry. It is one of the very few jobs the government is for. So that is simply fallacy.

And you present yourself as someone incapable of maintaining your equipment, or operating in a compliant manner. See doing those things will present a good record for the public to use in choosing whom has the privilege and authority to operate on our roads.

It violates due process of the law, by placing points in a additive system without imparting a legal violation of the law via warnings and inspections.

If you champion Gov't regulation... (personally I don't). There are a plethora of things they 'could' do to regulate the industry and take away any and all advantages of running illegal or running with sub-par equipment... That IS, if it was truely about 'Safety'.

    More fantasies.

OK lets start simple for you.

What is the absolute maximum penalty CSA can impart?

    Do tell.

Let's examine that for a minute.

How will CSA cause you loss of income?

As for employment it makes no rankings for individuals.

OK let's make this as simple as possible for you... What can cause you to receive ANY points via CSA 2010? An infraction of the law? A warning or non-legal event? How can a warning be contested? If contested, who arbitrates the contest? Is the warning issuing officer involved? Would the warning issuing officer have to admit he/she was mistaken in issuing the warning if the contest was awarded to the driver? By Whom?

Just what IS the process of contesting a points issued warning?

A company pulls your PSP report. I know they do. I just signed off that I received a copy of it.

They review this information and decide that you have too many point.

    You are now deemed "unemployable".

    You have lost income.
