I'm not hear to argue either, you story just doesn't jive. One bad inspection isn't going to black ball you.

Guessing he thought the same thing I did at first glance, before carefully re-reading your post. Been an operator since 1972 means you're an Old Guy. If carriers were turning you down on that, I'd be thinking the points were used as an excuse to avoid an age discrimination issue.

I doubt age discrimination is an issue in driving. There seems to be more older drivers than younger drivers these days....or maybe I'm just noticing more older drivers.
In the training fleets, more older drivers make the cut than younger ones.
Probably because they know they have little opportunity to go elsewhere.

If the job is physical, such as flatbedding, I suppose prospective employers would be more prone to discrimination. However, for dry van, refer...it really doesn't matter.

Im not going to sit here and take all these insults from people who don't really know anything, accept you Emulsified. Just remember your all in the same boat, and when it happens to you, cause it eventually will, I hope you get the same respect from your peers.

I am just trying to understand how one inspection can put you out of work.

I don't see 110 points. I see 78 points when I look up the values in the CSA charts.

And no, I don't agree with the CSA system either. It's a joke used for entirely the wrong purposes.

I'm sorry if you feel offended, that was not my intent. I was just hoping to have a discussion on this topic. While I don't think CSA is perfect, I also don't think it's preventing you from getting a job. Best of luck to you Banana

Meltom call any company tell them you have 40 yrs experience and 110 csa points see what they say. then explain that it was 1 warning stop, no tickets involved,, then let me know how that works out.

Seems to me that OOIDA would be a great place to start. I assume you called them already? What did they say?

The company that got rid of you did themselves no good. Even though you are gone rthey still keep your points on their score for 2 years. Firing a driver does NOT improve the company score.

And the points DO NOT go against your state issued drivers licence.
