I think it might be awhile before rates get raised because of CSA2010. The crappy companies are still around yet. Once they start to get weeded out and the number of trucks and qualified drivers starts to go down then maybe rates will come up.

The line at the mega trucking schools is still out the door so the supply of drivers ain't slowing down. It will be a while if at all.

Its not that as long as these brokers and shippers know that there are dumbxxxx that will haul for $1.10 just to get home or so called back haul to me back haul is where you haul the freight back to the shipper and unless you just hauling it up a mountain it will cost you the same to get it there as it do to get it back. So it dont matter if it 1000 drivers or 10000 a lot of the load are booked well in advance to give shippers and brokers time so if the first group wont haul it cheap another group will be along tomorrow.

I doubt it.Company "A" raises its rate, companies "B,C,and D" all swoop in and take all the freight. If you want to see any change everybody will have to stand together.Never gonna happen IMHO.

I agree with rjones although the supporters of the new csa think it will help weed out some of the cut rate carriers with high safety scores i doubt it will. The shippers are more than happy to give these carriers their business now I doubt this will really get rid of any of them. For every carrier that wants to raise their rates in order to better handle the new csa there will be 10 carriers waiting to cut the rate and take the freight and we all know the main concern of the shippers and receivers is money despite what they might want you to believe

CSA will not affect rates because we will never weed out all the bad companys or drivers because to many come into trucking on a daily bassis.

Me too, I thought it was going to weed out all the cowboy outlaw druggie idiot types and we were all going to get rich in trucking because the customers were going to need us more then we were going to need them. What happen I just had one pass me.

I think it did weed out a lot of bad ones and a lot of good old timers threw in the towel over the CDL. But a new bunch came along to replace the ones they got rid of that can't speak a bit of English.
