Ive done a search on this company and i cant seem to find any recent info on them.
If any current employees can give me any input on them i would appreciate it much(what is pay like...etc, for newbies).
Im seriously considering them,im thinking of joining their flatbed division,my orientation would be in savannah ga.
Also being that they only have automatic trucks i think,(is it a good idea for a newbie to start with automatics?)

I've been wondering the same
-
I heard the pay was around 30 cpm loaded 20 cpm unloaded for recent graduates, not sure on them having all auto's.

Stay away from AUTOS!
If you want to go to another company it will be hard to find one that will hire you without taking a refresher course first! -
recruiter that just came to our school quoted the following from my notes:
0-6 months 30.5 loaded, 20 empty
7-12 33.5/23
1 year 37/26
2 years 38/27
3 years 39/28
12/15% empty miles
5/7 loads per week home most weekends weekend runs get additional $67+mileage
1800-2300 miles/week
70% pre-tarp loads
primarily drop and hook loaded for empty
$375/wk during training for 4 weeks
decent benefits and supplemental pay items
###### automatics and trainers get the condos
they had me sold until he said autos.....lol..... -
All autos? that seems strange. CT is part of the same parent company that I run under. MCT, Willis Shaw and CT are all owned by Comcar. I had never heard that they're automatics.
That pretty much sucks! -
70% pre tarp and primarily drop and hook? they must have a huge account with a few customers..you dont hear of drop and hook to often with flats.

yeah sounded a little unusual to me to for a flatbed company after all the research i've been doing.....flatbed is one of my first choices so i know most of them do thier own tarping..... but the recruiter made a point to make a big deal out of it.....i do remember seeing another CT thread on here somewhere that a guy was saying he only tarped one load while with his trainer and the trainer said it had been so long since he tarped one he'd almost forgotton how.....they have several large dedicated accounts out of the mocksville terminal which is where they were recruiting students from our class for.....seems the miles would be a little higher due to no time wasted tarping and d/h but that's the figure he quoted.....sounded like almost the ideal gig until he said automatics.....and i don't think i could deal with the flat roof sleepers either.....but it was a recruiter talking too so you have to take alot of it with a grain of salt too i guess....one of our instructors spent some time with them too and really talked them up as better than average to work for.....sold alot of my classmates though....about half of them already applied but i decided to pass on it.....having nothing but automatic experience sure won't do them any good later on if they try to go somewhere else

If you know how to shift then you know how to shift, working with a company that runs auto's is not going to take away from what you know, and to pass up a good opportunity based solely on the fact is a bit ridiculous. The company I work for put me in an auto for a while and I was a bit turned off by it until I got to New Orleans on fat tuesday, from that day on I had no complaints. And as far as the flat tops go, yeah they're small and not too roomy but you're not spending weeks at a time in the truck. IMO, you're writing off a pretty good company for reasons that aren't really justified, but you make your own choices and hope that the decission you make will be the best for you.
duck65, M2k, flyingmusician and 2 others Thank this.
