What I do is get to my first stop nice and early and pull the ramp half way then I start to unload each box on the ramp then I start to separate it all on to stacks. Ever seen 1200 cases in a 28' trailer before? I have! If loaded properly it can work if loaded all over the place it becomes a challenge last week I had 915 on Tuesday and it wasn't loaded real well and took me a good well long time to get it unloaded. 6 stops in I was still struggling. I'll say this if loaded properly 1200 cases is a challenge, but do able a good loader and we do have some that are good can make a 1200 case no big deal really. I've had 600 case loads that were more troublesome then some 800 case loads it just all depends on the loader and how the selectors decide to feed him product. 019.JPG 019.JPG

I don't know how you do it, Mike!

He confirmed what I said: "verrry carefully"! But seriously, ramp pulled halfway out to use as a shelf is genius-level foodservice truckin'.

Use the ramp as a plank!! What if it's so packed you can barely close the door. The loaders should follow protocol and be team players. OSHA violation!!!

Can you tell us if you're foodservice or LTL, or none of the above, so we can give you the correct answers.

Of course it matters. How can we help you out if you don't wanna tell us what you do. If you're foodservice, wouldn't you want somebody who actually does foodservice to answer your questions, and not somebody who does LTL?

Steep hill and BB's ?.....no wait, the BB's would roll out

Wait !!, I see a backhoe parked, I have a CASE key, I'll build a fricken ramp..dolly the freight to the ground, cuss and swear the entire time...lol...this if the math says you gotta drop and boogie..sometimes the math says sit on delay or detention and let someone else take 2 days to figure it out..who knows

I'll come up with somethin...have to!! right?

The reason it doesn't matter is because drivers should never run into that situation. It's a death trap. There are rules companies are suppose to follow by OSHA. I am sure many drivers were hurt because of this nonsense. So who's fault is it when someone gets hurt.

I am a road driver for FXF but I work the dock 95% of the time. I've seen full trailers. But on a dock with lifts totally different.
