Ok, I’ll start from the beginning.... every now and then amber light would come on w/check engine light sometimes for seconds at a time temporarily bog down and taking my foot of the gas for a couple seconds would remedy the issue. I changed crankcase filter and cleaned sensor I got better gas fuel mileage after i cleaned sensor but check engine light would still come on under stressful load if I didn’t hit the Hill right or at slow takeoffs etc it still bogged down for a second when the light popped on sounding like the tea was ready on the stove in the old tea pots, but if I got on the gas pretty good the check engine/amber light would never come on & truck would never bog down, so I was maintaining this way no major issues. Now fast forward to this newest issue of losing coolant to fast up until the day I lost a gallon in like a hour and when it got low for the first time the stop Engine light would come beeping non stop but when coolant was temporarily full all lights would go off until it got back low again I had no external leaks by the way. So I took truck to cummings dealership after goggling possible egr cooler symptoms and sure as day 2 days later $236 diagnosis they tell me it’s egr cooler & tell me it will be $5000 for egr cooler plus $1500 if I wanted to do my manifold gasket yikes, so I take the truck to a place an associate of mine referred I give them the Cummings diagnosis, they run the codes and all they pick up is crankcase sensor is bad ok so they swap the egr cooler, change my manifold gasket 2 days later I pick up my truck. I get in notice after 1 minute of idling the stop Engine light comes on they hook up computer and get the same code crankcase sensor I tell the guy normally it’s just check engine/amber light for that sensor he assures me his computer wouldn’t lie, I say ok I take the truck leave and swap crankcase sensors for brand new one let it run hoping it would clear but still the non stop beeping from the stop engine indicator. All my gauges read normal and no signs of irregularities with running condition.... so as I start to walk around truck I notice drips on the ground I inspect further and see red coolant all on the underneath side of the Engine block by the egr cooler, I called the shop they tell me their going to make it right drop it off in the AM? As hesitant as I am that they couldn’t get it right the first time, I paid for it so I gotta give them a chance. But I guess before seeing the coolant leak which I hope is just a coolant line (o rings/clamps) my whole thing is why would my stop engine light beep non stop even after I changed the part the computer said was bad (crankcase sensor) does this code have to be reset or something at the dealership possibly after it’s triggered? because prior to the coolant getting low it never came on period and it went off after I filled coolant to make it to drop off destination, so why after fixing the issue so to say would it just stay on non stop I just feel like I’m going to take it back to them they’ll fix the leak but not fix the stop Engine light from going off. Truck is a 2009 prostar with Cummings isx 450 still runs good with the light on but who can drive like that all day. I know I’m not the first or the last to have days like this! Thanks in advance for any insight!
Cummings isx stop Engine light constant beeping after egr cooler changed.

As you describe this shop job I wouldn't trust their diagnostic. But IF it's code for crank pressure sensor and sensor was replaced there you have bad wire or huge blowby. Take off oil fill cap and start engine for short time. Put your hand over oil fill to check crank case pressure. If it blowing hard and smoking the engine need overhaul. If not - check wires.
Never run engine with any warning lights on. Repair small problem like coolant leaking is cheaper then new engine.Trucknlyfe Thanks this. -

That's not how you check blowby,
You have to check it under a load. -
By the way, why didn't you just let Cummings fix it right the first time?
snowwy Thanks this. -
This guy does a complete ISX engine rebuild it you want to watch some of his videos

His rebuild

I doubt the engine needs a rebuild, it sounds like a friend of a friend who knows this shop that can save a few bucks because they don't hire Cummin trained techs thing.
Learning how to fix a truck via youtube doesn't help, he needs to get it to someone who knows what the hell they are doing and go through the repair. -
CUMMINS makes great engines!
Voyager1968, homeskillet and Gumper Thank this. -
