ISX is 15L
11.9 engine with HPI system by cummins is Scania 12L HPI. But I've never seen this engine on other then scania trucks.
Yep, they share ECMs, actuators, injectors, but scania engine is OHV, ISX is DOHC. -
This one? -
No, I don't think so, in the states it is called 11.9 ISX I believe it's parentage is from Cummins of Asia?? Just came out last year. -

Looks like Scania XPI engine.... seems to me I can see it every day with Scania label.
XPI is like CRD. Names differ ))LOL. Really it is Common rail engine. it is available here as Euro-5 emission with SCR.
ouh, seems to me all the diesel engines will be common rail soon. -
They used to call it the ISM but now they call it the ISX 11.9.
-
Nah, different motor altogether. ISM was discontinued for OTR last year. Just looking at it the block pan and head are completly different. ISM was only 10.8 litre -
-
CRD vs XPI. As I understand CRD rail pressure is variable. XPI rail pressure is constant (relativelly) and as I know 2200 bar, so all pressurized parts are dangerouse. Bad nut may be shot out with pressure like a bullet...

Nope, two totally different engines. While the 11.9 ISX is rear gear train it does have the air compreesor on the front of the engine. It is driven by one gear run off of the crankshaft while everything else is run off of the back of the engine. Been driving one on and off for about 3 years. Why, do you have questions about them?
