There is a small silver airline that appears to return air pressure to the compressor intermittently that is broken off on my engine.
    Don't know how it happened.
Just happened and I'm in the middle of nowhere.
Is this safe to drive to a shop?
What does that airline return air to the compressor for??
    Any help would be great.

Can’t see it but my guess would be it’s the line from the governor on the air dryer to the unloader valve in the compressor head.

This was resolved with a new connector.
I haven't found out what the line does.
It is under pressure while under power.
    No pressure when slowing.
    Intermittent pressure while parked.
It's fixed of course, but if anyone knows what the line does, please post for reference.
    Thanks 20220512_104650.jpg 20220513_121304.jpg

That goes to the unloader valve that cuts the compressor in and out. The flat machined boss with 2 bolt holes and a hex head plug on the compressor facing you is where the governor would mount if it wasn’t on the dryer.

    Bugsy1108 and Goodysnap Thank this.
