sure I could go with a c15 cat or a common rail cummins isx15 and make over 1000hp but I'm not really a fan of copying other peoples designs, I like to come up with my own little power combos, I like to push the limits of a motor, I wanna see how much I can do to a motor and still make it run, I like to try things on my own with my own theory and try to prove it right, if someone has an idea in their mind I can try my best to make it happen, I figure the max potential for this engine is around 750hp before its gone, so running it at 687 doesn't hit the limits and isn't underpowered, basically my scratch idea turned into a good deal

Something to consider is always having money for a wrecker fund if your gonna be experimenting on your bread and butter.

That's why guys do a c15, 3406E or isx. It may have been done, but in the end power is power. The cost of breaking under a load is far out weighed by putting your experiments aside and run something already tried and true. Running extra junk like water injection, methanol or boost juice (not sure what your referring too there) is just another thing to go wrong and cause a problem.

I'm just curious, but where did you come up with the idea of 750 hp max potential on a N14?

Do you use a data logger system or have a Dyno that you test on and have tested several engines until they self destruct on the Dyno and collect the data, collect parts samples and research all the weak links of the engine?

This whole thing is BS. He's just trying to sell something that he talked about like the Bullydog or the methanol injection or something else. I mean, really, who pulls an old engine out of a truck just to dyno it over a few extra horsepower?

I'm finding it rather amusing more then anything.....

You know , like your cpl# dictates what drive train your truck has.

Well cpl has nothan to do with drivetrain, normally a 310 or whatever was not ordered as a preimium engine. If I recall 435hp and up could be a premium. And most could be turned up to 525hp. But not all. Ive never worried about drivetrain. Im not logging or in construction. Drive it respectalble and you dont have problems. I feel the N14 is one if not the best engine and easily can make alot of power. Ive worked on them all and own a detroit and N14. I dont hate cat, not hard to work on but for me they belong on a dozer.

Why do cats belong in a dozer and not a truck?

Thats just my opinion. I am not saying they are junk. They are good engines. I just wont own one, first is they are heavy, expensive, and not as good on fuel. But they have great power, reliable, and easy to work on.
