Got a question about using Howes Anti-gel in the diesel tanks for winter and how it will effect the Cummins X15 Engine fuel system.. Is this a good idea so your not stuck somewhere in below freezing temps and causing damage to the fuel system? Thoughts and reasons yay or nay...

I buy the “Gray” bottles by the case on Amazon.Sons Hero Thanks this. -
Follow the directions on quantity and you will be fine. Better to go treated than not, especially when below 10*F temps are expected. I recommend customers treat from Dec 1 thru end of Feb. Do not trust that out of the pump is treated.
Diesel Dave and Arctic_fox Thank this. -
While i dont own an ISX motor howes and for that matter all antigels are safe to use as long as you follow the directions. And a $25 or whatever (not checked prices this year yet) bottle of anti-gel is far cheaper then a tow and new filters. Typically i start adding it around late october to mid november for my area.
Also if you buy it in bulk either online or in a non truckstop store. Its typically cosiderably cheaper. I also keep a bottle of the red 911 in my truck even if i prefer howes. It works MUCH better then any other product at de-gelling a truck enough to at least start and limp it inside a shop.Otr Traveler Thanks this. -
We had a driver that thought "more is better" with the Howes and the first thing to fail was the espar bunk heater which he ran a lot, it cokes up the burn chamber, next was the DPF required more frequent cleaning. So use as directed.
