All three have some other brand. That's why I say cummins wants to change the filter base.

Put the davco on see if Cummins will pay ......

Even if they won’t I’d put one on anyway .....

Goggle Peterbilt Steve ... he’s a sales man for rush I think ..

Here’s a video on the X-15 performance that he says it needs the davco unit....

Full disclosure I have no 1st hand knowledge of this issue......

Cummins already has refused to help at all. They say the truck should have been ordered with the larger davco filter. Peterbilt say's there is no problem with the filter they put on. That's why I say they just pass the buck back and forth. We are going to see just what is plugging it up. Years ago I had a pete that had heavy oxidation in the tanks from their cleaning process in that did the same thing.

I have a new X15. Filter only lasted 6k miles. Reason is the factory part is only 10 microns. Way too low.
Kenworth said to install a 30 micron filter, part number K37-1012. At 10k now and looking good.

Cummins say's max of 25 micron. The 10 micron is too small. He could only get a 50 micron a while back and it lasted far longer.

We have a few 605HP X15 Performance trucks in the fleet, all of them with upgraded filtration (not sure if it's Davco). Haven't had to deal with this issue at all but our shop was keenly aware of it.

Are you talking about the primary filter on the frame or the secondary on the engine itself?

I've heard that you have two options when ordering the truck, Davco or Pacar. I was told to go with the Davco because the Pacar will do exactly what your describing. Not a Cummins issue but a Pacar issue. Watch the video of Peterbild Steve that was posted above, he talked about the issue and how he only orders the Davco for that reason.

This is the first filter with the transparent cover.
The engine mounted filter stays in place.
