They should clear the code(s) and drive the truck with a scan tool/laptop hooked up try to recreate the problem. There is freeze frame data that shows what certain parameters/data are (say voltage to actuator....) at the exact point the code was set. There are also oscilloscope tests if someone has the tool and knows how to use it. Like the other poster said, it's a lot more than finding a code and then replacing a part. If Peterbilt is going to guarantee their repair by replacing the actuator and not charging you if it does not work I would be ok with that. Problem with the parts cannon is that the customer ends up paying for so called repairs that were not necessary and did not fix the problem.

I would be priming the truck every day for a week before turning it over and seeing if that makes a difference
I am not sure about the X15, but I know on my ISX it has an electronic fuel primer as it was an issue with them losing prime.
If you prime the system every day before starting it and the problem continues you probably can start to narrow it down.
If you prime it every day and the problem goes away, you are probably losing prime somewhere.
Does the fuel level make a difference? Any patterns for when u get low on fuel or something?Josiah Harder Thanks this. -

Example: not saying this is your code
For code 2636 the actuator is not even listed as one of the Possible causes to solve the problem.
Shop replaced the actuator and the code and performance issues came back. -
