ironically, if the regulations were HONEST, then the best way to reduce GHG emissions would be to remove the after treatment systems, and allow the engines to run at maximum efficiency, thereby burning the least possible amount of fuel, and thus producing the least possible amount of CO2.
nevertheless, like you and the vast majority of the voting public, we DO give a rip about clean air, and I want my grand kids to grow up healthy and the world to be better when I leave it.
Best my reading comprehension gives me is that this proposes to halt the next level of emissions (2027) and keep it where it is today. Which isn’t great, but we’ve got enough mechanics in the industry now that can keep these trucks running, for the most part. 2027? Here we go again…..
