Always, always, always remember that there's a lot of cowboys out there, but a lot of them are missing their cattle! AND... many of these cowboys have never had cattle to begin with!
Start with one moo and move on to the next!
You will NEVER be disappointed with yourself unless you never tried!

Well my husband has no intention of leasing lol. The company he's going to apply to starts new student drivers at .33 cpm, gets them home weekly, great benefits, and good miles. As many others have done, I'd recommend just getting your CDL and then find a better company after you get your license.

To the Op. You just don't seem to want to accept the realities of the situation.1 that your life will be in the hands of someone that may have very little experience and that is flat out dangerous.2 that you probably aren't going to see all these miles that you're hoping to get without leasing. That's the way these people do buisness.3 you're going to stay in the most deplorable excuse for a hotel you've ever dreamt about. Don't believe me? Check out cr england hotel on you tube. ####roaches and bed bugs.4 you just keep telling yourself that everyone here is wrong and your experience is going to be different but I've got bad news friend. It won't. Thousands of ruined dac reports and thousands of law suits don't exist because people are just full of it or didn't cut the mustard. But go ahead and prove us all wrong like so many before you. Just have the sack to come back on here in the next months and tell us how great it was and how much money you're rolling in. It's funny because you come and ask for info and when people try and help you, you snub it. But, you're not the first and won't be the last. Good luck. You'll need it and you've been warned.
HotH2o, Harbinger117 and Wildhorse192001 Thank this. -

I have recommended many newbies to consider expediting , especially husband-wife teams .
I have recommended good opportunities to wannabes showing potential but I do it by pm . I'm not posting info on good carriers in threads because it would result in them getting applications from some unqualified wannabes . -
From my brief experience at CRE, I will add just one thing.
Make sure your trainer is NOT on a dedicated route, "official" or otherwise. My trainer basically did the same route every week....SLC to NYC. So I got NYC training, but virtually nothing in terms of trip planning, scaling, and all the various skills needed to survive in this business.
Just my pfennigs worth. -
The real question (at this point anyway) is: Is the O/P "big enough" to keep this thread updated and let us all know his experiences there with 100% truth!

superpet39 Thanks this.

big enough?
i've never had a problem admitting when i'm wrong. this situation is no different.
i will make it my personal mission in life now to squeeze a post on this thread in between training in CRE and comforting my pregnant wife on the phone before i go to sleep. that's how "big enough" i'll be for you. but don't you worry, i'll strap on a magnum.Last edited by a moderator: Mar 23, 2013

I've been in two reportable accidents in my 3 plus years of OTR and both were caused by CR England. The first was a trainee not paying attention and backed into me at a truckstop one night. The second involved a trainee as well, but it was his TRAINER who was trying to pull forward into a spot at a TA and turned two late and buckled up the trailer at a 45 degree angle. I was hauling paint dye that second time which meant every full-grown in that part of the state showed up with pens and forms. It looked like a smokey bear hat convention.
I guess it's just me, but I've got some personal problems with them. It didn't cost me anything on either incident other than inconvenience. What CR England needs to start requiring at orientation is a class on scratching your head and butt at the same time while pulling into spots at the truck stop. T would help us all in the long runpattyj Thanks this.
