TROOPER to TRUCKER and truckon Thank this. -
There's no average or standard. Being independent means just that, each driver does what makes sense to them. Once the bills are paid, you are free to pick.
truckon and scottlav46 Thank this. -
I think everyone is different.
I'd like to be home more often... but living in Fla doesnt help.. even being an O/O. It just too much of a hassle.
I have a set amount of money I need to NET when I go out. Once I reach my number, I head home. Depending how things go, it can happen in 3 weeks or 6 weeks. Just depends.
When I get home I'm usually there for at least 10 - 14 days before I head back out.
Right now I havent seen Fla since July. I had some truck issues and pretty much depleted my savings.
So the way its going now... I wont be able to breath easy until mid Nov-ish. Thinking about getting home Dec 20th and just take January off.
HurstTruckDuo, peterbilt_2005 and scottlav46 Thank this. -
@Hurst & @TripleSix are on point. You have the control of "how long you want to be rolling".TruckDuo Thanks this. -
11 months on the road pretty much means you don't have a wife, kids,gf,pets, maybe parents and no friends. Money motivated lol, we know #### well no owner op by choice stays out more than 4 to 6 weeks on average with a family at home. -
I like to stay out 8-10 hours. More then that and I actually feel like im working.
Ruthless Thanks this. -
TruckDuo Thanks this.

As i stated to other poster I do entertainment and wife rides with me most of the time so need to go home often -
I usually stay out a couple of weeks. It all depends on what's moving where.
