    It is 480 miles so that's a $1.04 a mile.
    PASS.

481 miles for $450.00...it would depend if it was a "go home" load (if I lived in/near Raleigh), or if there was a really good paying load in/near Raleigh for a re-load.

But just moving the load to have a load...no.

It was a load I saw on my carrier's live feed (whatever you want to call their technology to see all posted loads gathered from DAT, Truck Stop, etc and gathered price by dispatch) and saw it taken quickly by someone else (not in the company though).

Jersey is a tough market. I haven't ran vans out of there in a decade, but most of runs to Jersey and the Northeast were deadhead back due to little or cheap freight. My home base was Harrisburg PA then and I'd run 5-7 trips east per week. If you're going to run the Northeast, you have to have a cpm average strategy. Waiting for $2.50 per mile outbound will just waste your time when you can be hauling cheap or deadheading back to pick up another good load. You have to get your money going in, just like FL or Denver.

Yeah going to Chicago was always slightly above $1 per mile. Though out of NC or SC I haven't seen anything good, FL has been dead for me, having to run empty out of there. Though going to NJ out of Chicago been $2.80 to $3 a mile.

How much space does it take up? Can you book something else with it?

Apparently it was a full truck load just very light due to the material the cups were made out of. My curiosity is more specific how cheap can a load get due to the light weight before it becomes nonsensical to even run it as it would break even with just running empty.

There are a lot of guys that run to the Northeast out of SC, NC and VA on a daily basis, so the rate and how fast it went is no surprise.
