Makes you (the truck) more visible. Ccommunicate in traffic Horn, LIGHTS and signal) I'm a six wheeler and I do it all day.
Lepton1 Thanks this. -
Mine are off unless weather or time a day requires me to turn them on the only exception for myself is If pulling a oversized load then I turn on the running lights

It's nice to know what the driver in front of you wants to do, so I don't pull too far wardward, thinking he's still wanting to drive, and I block off his backing path, and I also have to back up to make room for him. It's not because I am being ###, I just want to know what the guy is doing.
And assuming that I will smash into everything at a terminal if everyone doesn't have their 4-ways blinking at all times is insulting. (not saying you are insulting me Dennixx it's just the rules in places I think are stupid)Last edited: Aug 28, 2019
Truckermania, gentleroger and Lepton1 Thank this. -
Customers that require 4 ways in their yard is a pet peeve of mine. In any truck stop you know a driver's intentions if they put on their 4 ways. If every moving truck has 4 ways on it's FUBAR.
ncmickey, Cattleman84, D.Tibbitt and 3 others Thank this. -
I used to run all the time with all my lights on.
Now not as much. Csa warnings with lights burnt out.
Around city traffic I have them on. But open interstate I turn them off.Badmon Thanks this. -

I have an adjacent question...
Why do volvo drivers feel the need to sleep with their headlamps on (oftentimes on high beam)
