PLEASE. THIS IS FOR DRIVERS CURRENTLY EMPLOYED BY FFE. I do not want to hear from angry, former FFE drivers or people who "know a guy who..." I am looking for current information only, please? I don't want another company bashing thread.
So I am out of work looking to find something. It's amazing what I have been finding. Me: 12 years driving. 1.5 million accident free miles. 10.5 years OTR, owner op for 3 years of that (sold truck on my own before financial trouble). Drove gas tanker locally the last 1.5 years. Many, and I mean many, companies have told me I have no recent OTR and they can't hire me.
One company has though. FFE. So I am looking for current drivers there, preferably company drivers as I am not really a fan of the lease purchase. I would like to know anything and everything you can tell me. Making good money? Like the equipment? Like the people you work with? Like the loads you haul? Blah blah blah? Anything would help. Thanks
Current FFE drivers... info?

Look for "lonewolf4ad" he currently works there.
You can most likely find in the "the last post wins" thread. -
For the past 7 years things have mostly been good with them. We don´t think that they are an intentionally bad company overall, but you are just a number. Now that being said..things are very tight at FFE and their miles seem to be going through a lost in space situation right now. I think they are in financial straits justing from their stock. They went from bad to worse in the stock world..their stock is selling for 3.30 as of today and last year it was a dollar more and the year before that it was higher. The fuel costs and economy have taken their toll. Now we are only being paid 1 mile in city regardless of where drops are and you guys should knoiw how big Detroit is and going around that city to six different locations...paying 1 mile is highway robbery of the worst kind. My miles have dropped and my drop loads have dropped. I am being paid 770 miles where I was previously being paid zip code to zip code or dock to dock and getting paid for each drop...usually around 900 miles...if I go to Grand Rapids it was more than that. I have a friend in worse shape than me now and he isn´t a newbie either..we have been there pretty much together for the past 7 years..he does LTL As well and is also an owner operator(not lease driver it is nuts to lease in today´s industry).
My check is half what it was last year. I would not advise anyone to come on board right now...things are too rough and the competition is thick and the regular trucking in FFE is horrid..truckers are leaving left and right and I am considering leaving a job I have loved for the past 7 years..it is really that bad. -
Thanks for the update.
Sounds like sooo many other companies !!!!!! -
Their stock was in the low 2's in the late '90,s.......As for the O/O, they're trying to survive (FFE). I just wish these companies would lay it out for the employees and be honest about why they're doing what their doing.

Allow me I agree. Last year this time on the same route we were being paid gross almost 4300 a week and netting about 2200 so we were a bit happy..if they would be honest with the fact they are about to sink into the mud we would probably just bear wtih them..right now though it feels like stealing to us. The same load is now paying us half that..today´s net was just 1200 and we went to Grand Rapids..LTL that pays 65 dollars ..granted I am sure we are lucky as for the first time in my life I heard about truckers being laid off...seems like a new animal..yet the government just keeps ignoring that the industry is sinking and it is going to hurt much worse than if the car industry sinks.

Im a co driver for them.2011 int. Same as most co but i like the long runs.i drive otr. Heres the thing I stay out 1 to 2 months at a time. Go anywhere anytime.Wife is with me kids are gone. They will dh me home no questions asked. If i wanted to be home bi weekly it wouldent work.
TxStoke Thanks this. -
there stock is 4.53 as of 1-14-2011, to many drivers and to many companys, thats why rates are low, remember how many airplane companys there used to be 10 or 20 years ago, and how many banks, no different in trucking, look at swift there still 2 to 300 million in debt even after there stock went IPO
fancypants Thanks this. -
