If your looking to run western 11, look at Gordon as well. Good company, very low safestat score, 2nd lowest in country and you may even be able to run reefer as well. I cant due to I live in Michigan, so I have to run traditonal otr. Whats also nice with Gordon Trucking, NO NEW ENGLAND PERIOD! We actually awhile back had a drriver that took a load to NYC and Steve Gordon found out just as the driver arrived to del, the planner, and dispatcher both were fired for violating company policy. Nice clean almost o/o specd trucks, real good maint crews, all in all, great company for anybody with pretty good records looking for a company that will take care of them and treat them with respect. right now, the drivers that dont cry and whine are getting 3200 miles a week, otherwise about 2500 or less for the cry babies. if intrested, call the pacific, wa toll free number, ask for shelly g

Imagine, If you are getting this runaround now, what it will be like after you went to work for them. I would continue to shop , maybe try Navajo or some of the other co. in Denver. Good Luck...

I've already sent my app to the person Kabar suggested for 11 Western.

It is, and your welcome. I think you'll find there's alot less BS and stupidody at Knight Refrigerated. I don't know why Knight Trans has so much of it but they do. Every time I go into one of there terms I hear about it and at least 1 driver is looking to switch over. Good luck and let us know what they say.

you migt even try navajo, they are right out of denver as well, off I-76 exit 4. They are doing a massive truck replacement, so alot of the trucks are new, trailers as well.

It is against the law to discriminate because of age, so they are not going to tell you that you are too old.
I am a little confused about something! You state in your profile that you have been a trucker for three years. If your accidents are on your DAC, I would think you had an accident within the last three years. Am I missing something?

good catch there maverick, I did not even catch that one. Hmmmmm

And that "incident" MAY be bogus (what is known as "frivolous" in legal terms). He said "you know you can dispute that, right"? I said it's already been done, sir and a copy of the dispute was enclosed with my app!!!! Along with TWO separate letters from the carrier that dinged my DAC inviting me to come back any time I wanted to.
He said "what about these other two accidents/incidents". I said they were in early 2004, sir. Let's see, that's FIVE years isn't it??? Hmmm. He seemed surprised, even though my DAC was right in front of him. What can I say?
I got the impression he was going to have recruiting run a full check on me and if all was well, they may offer me a job. That was my impression, I may be wrong and I'm not waiting around. First DECENT carrier that offers me a job, I'm gone!!!
Thanks to all you guy/gals that have offered ideas, suggetions, etc. I'm really greatful even though I don't HAVE to work. I'd really be going nuts with all this crap if I had to rely on any money I might make.
Fun, fun, fun...........

I took my first training in late 2003. I stuck with driving for a year, then someone asked me for help with a project, so I bailed out for a year. Then I went back in late 2005, until my eyes started failing in mid-2007. In Feb of of 2008 I had artificial lenses implanted which took me from soon-to-be-blind to 20/25 without correction. Went back to driving last May and June, but got fed up and quit again. If ya want, I can put an exact list together with start/end dates of each job. So ya see, with my on-again-off-again trucking career, I have 3 years of driving exp over a 5 year timeframe.
Now, as to why I want to go out again, when I really don't HAVE to...... Wife lost her health insurance and I'd like to NOT have to pay almost $900 per month, for MINIMAL coverage. Secondly, while I VERY likely have enough in my retirement funds for the rest of my life, in never hurts to have MORE. I lost quite a lot (almost $100K) in the "great crash of 2008" and wouldn't mind putting some of it back.
Oh, yeah..... I've had one preventable accident right after I started (early 2004) one "bulls**t" incident a month later and then the other "BS incident" in june 2008. Have NEVER been in an accident where I was at charged, although I could have been for the first one in 2004.
Hope this clears things up.......

P.S. Hey Maverick.... I see you are from FL. What part??? I lived in JAX for 20 years.Last edited: Jan 5, 2009
