I did have the roof of my 1995 Ford painted and for me I think they did a fine job. Came out a perfect factory match and I think they charged me $600.00 and warrantied it coast to coast for 2 years. If you have a semi truck you need painted I would take it to Macco and see what they say. The Independent Body shops only want to do insurance work there not interested in non-insurance jobs, but Macco has the niche market of people who's cars are in okay, shape, but need a paint job. I think the most expensive paint job at Macco is like $2,000.00. What I like about Macco is there not afraid, Independent places won't work for you the don't want your business, but Macco will put on a paint job good enough for a while. Like I said my truck came out just fine. I think I might have some bubbling around my top break light, but my cars 22+ years old and I live in snowy salty pot hole laden Cleveland, Ohio so I figured my 1995 Ford if I get 4 years out of it that's good enough.
But yeah a car or older semi truck that runs good, but looks, bad but wasn't in an accident or anything just some regular battle scars and faded paint, I would take to Macco for sure.

I wrote about Macco as an example, not sure any Macco could even paint a tractor. A spray booth tall enough and deep enough for a truck with scaffolding at your local Macco?

Deff don't recommend doing it yourself if you don't have a lot of experience. My dads painted thousands of gallons over his lifetime. Not sure what its called but my dad did the 2 part base/clear that you can wet sand if you get a run here or there. Done right it will really shine -
The pic in my avatar is before the paint job but he did the same scheme anyways

This is a $4,500 paint job. The top Desert Rose is single stage and the white has a pearl in it and is base coat clear coat.
The frame was sand blasted and painted black.
All the aluminum was polished, rims , steps and deck plate.
The fairings were removed and required extensive fiberglass and body work. Lots of body work went into the cab also, stone chips and tiny dents.
I dropped the truck off on Sunday Feb. 11, and picked it up Tues March 27. Picked up the fairings today and spent all day installing them. Had to drill all new holes in the bottom as most were blown out from years of vibration,
Had to rent 6 trucks for my LA run at about $400 a pop. So add $2,400 to the price for a total of $6,900.
For those of you who do not have a dedicated run, you can forgo the truck rental.Ruthless and Heartbeat91 Thank this.
