Joplin Peterbilt painted mine, they done a freaking crazy good job. That said it took a month longer and 8k more than quoted. I did have a lot of other work done it needed but when I figured out it was just sitting why not. Instead of it being down longer. From what I got out of the conversstion I had with the body shop manager several times, the top of the hood and roof needs to be done in a color that looks good in single stage paint. No metallics or pearls. He said the clear almost always will peel. Which is why I went back black on top but left the burgandy fenders with gold metallic and a pearl overlay. I still have to put the stacks and rear fenders on plus the deck plate so I hate to post pics
that's the jest of an 18k paint job. With all the suspension work I had done the and new michelin steers 28k was the total figure. A lot to spend on an old 91 for sure. Thing is the frame and body are incredibly sound. Its got right at a million miles with me being the second owner. We done an out of frame on the B model first of December so barring any unforseen complications I should be good.

Buddy of mine got his 379 did at Elizabeth Truck Center in jersey. $16k for cab sleeper hood n grill. All glossy black. Looks good.... I think he should have went with a different color personally. All black peterbilt just seems too common to me.

If you live in the Southwest black is like being in an oven.
Regarding single stage paint on hoods and roofs, that makes sense. Looking at the OE finish it looks like Imron was used. The single stage Imron may be the way I go, I am looking at the paint job as do it once do it right. There are places that paint trucks for a few grand and they look good from the proverbial 20 feet. I had a service truck I bought at a Richie Bros auction that was painted at one of those places. The only saving grace was it was just plain white.
I am not looking to spend 15 grand on a paint job though. Good materials cost and someone who is detail focused is worth paying to get a good job. Bakerman send me info on the guy that did your truck. I will have it ready for paint in a few weeks.
