I have been cruising alot of the post here and I am trying to piece them togather plus some of the information is out dated, like me.This would not be a thread about "to lease or not", it would be a thread for those of us who for what ever temperary lack of sanity is in a lease agreement with Prime. I just signed mine this week.
Is their a seasoned, not burnt out L/O willing to start this thread

I changed the title of your thread to make it more likely that other L/Os will discuss the topic here. I think it is more likely that you will get a discussion going this way, rather than waiting for someone else to start a new thread for you.
slick501 Thanks this. -
I really want the area for current operators out there working with PRIME. Not the should I could I. Mostly so that we "new" L/O and ask questions.

Thanks, Slick. I will be following this thread as the wife and I get ready to return to Prime! Your first week has certainly been an adventure!

first load: line 448.53
FUSU 150.66
REFFUSU 18.48
LHFUSU 3.02

purchased 127.8 fuel # 2.68 = 342.37
miles: 648 = -
.69 per mile plus FUSU is horrible. Got you out of Springfield, though. With FUSU is still only .95pm. I found I needed to average at least 1.15pm (including FUSU) to get a decent settlement each week - and you can never judge by only one load. What are L/Os finding these days? Open question...
Keep in mind that sometimes you have to take the dog loads to get you into a good freight lane. Where did you end up on this one, Slick? Hopefully you got a good paying load to make up for this one.DirtySideDown Thanks this. -
Got the okay from Prime to rehire... so now we just have to decide when to go!

Hope all goes well for you. Take care and be safe out there.

Ok. Lets break this down a little first. You purchased 127.8gal of fuel. Why? How much fuel did your truck come with? After fuel, you got around 42CPM Even at empty, which i know they dont give it to you empty, you should have purchased around 108gal of fuel, thus putting your bill at 289.44, saving you $52, putting your adjusted CPM at 51CPM, almost a 10CPM jump. But from what I've seen, you get at LEAST 1/4 to 1/2 tank of fuel.
Don't top off just to top off, especially at the end of a week, which for Prime, is tuesday 4pm. Only purchase what you need plus a litter buffer.
One thing you should do is keep track of EVERYTHING. Keep record of your dispatched miles versus actual trip miles so you can get a true sense of what you are making per mile. ALSO keep in mind you have that 3CPM coming out for every dispatched mile for that "tire fund" prime charges you.
Check out user JR OTR's online blog, OTR Journal (youll have to google it since these forums dont allow links, last i checked). He has a great record of how he keeps track of every single expense and source of income for that truck. He doesnt lease with Prime, but his spreadsheets will still help you get on the right track. Dont just rely on Periman. YOU are the "business owner" so its your responsibility to run, act, and think as one.
But yes, it did get you out of Springfield, which is a start. Its hard getting out of that rat hole. Good Luck.slick501 Thanks this. -
many thanks, sorry I have not followed up on this and latter trips. I am currently intangled in trying to set up a small business bank acct that no one bothered to mention in oreintation. I specifically asked " do I need to do anything" since I was a company driver with direct deposit. Of course the answer was "no". So what money I did make was applied to my comdata card which does not help me much. I can not transfer monet from it to my personal ck acct. I have np one at the home front to deposite a chk if I sent it............................
Now I lear that with capital One I can not transfer funds via online banking to my personal chking acct because of the ssn/EIN numbers.
