Ooooo, no clue really, I believe it’s personal not exclusive to all of Americans but to certain people only.

Therein lies the sticky wicket, many of you simply CAN'T afford to get out, and rising fuel costs were about the only factors I had to deal with. For me, I put up with whatever regs they threw at us, but when it came to making less money JUST because of the fuel, it was easy to quit, and get a company job. I didn't have a 1/4 million dollars worth of equipment sitting in the drive either.
Since fuel costs will always be a moot point, I'd say, the regs and insurance, plus the "not if, but when" with distracted drivers, would be enough for me these days to get out, and it was and I did.

could you help teach me please? What does it mean to not be able to afford to quit? Could you describe that?

You'll have to leave La La Land first.

Ahhhh, ok I can do that. Is there magic unicorns and sweet rainbows where you are? Or wherever it is you’re telling me I must go to be a real boy like you?

I never mentioned myself in particular. Seems La La Land has stolen your reading comprehension.

My reading compression is decent to quite well. I do naturally live care free though and I understand that most to almost everyone misunderstands this for their own personal insulting ammo aimed with whatever they believe is the most hurtful expression of words from their perspective of who/what they see their target as.

I don’t see why anyone would choose to stress themselves out by feeding fantasies of fear that lead to compulsive decisions like quitting careers or moving states to run from the boogie man but end up worse than before after it catches up with them.

Yeah sure rates can suck sometimes and sometimes it’s great - if you’re using a single source public load board then you should expect that right? I don’t believe it should be that but it doesn’t have to be with some more hard work. If you could watch all the load boards all day and night until you’re booked weeks out then maybe you have a better time. I believe we’ll see diesel above $10.00 this go around before it goes down again. Or maybe I hit my head?

why am I so happy in lala land? Eh idk ‍♀️? Maybe because for years I was scammed, lied to and abused. Told the highest rate ever was $2.25/mi out of California. Just before that I leased on to a place that paid a flat $0.91/mi loaded and $0.50 empty for all loads with no fuel card and high insurance and they refused to pay a total of $42,xxx.00 over the course of 2 years. Most of that was the truck payments, I lease purchased through a dealership, they co-signed - took the payments out of the settlements but didn’t pay the bill to the dealership. I sent hundreds of emails and reminded them to fix it every week for over a year, they refused to pay many trips and always said we have it fixed by Monday. I don’t think it’s possible to not be in lala land unless skynet sends a terminator back that could succeed. You’d have to erase all my past and what I’ve endured. I’m grateful to be where I am.

I was really happy with my situation until you made it sound so dismal. And we always save ketchup and other condiment packets.
