Same... I'd rather deal with Atlanta than Miami's traffic...

There may be some jobs, not lots of jobs. THERE IS NO DRIVER SHORTAGE. There are more people in the country wanting to live in FL than jobs in FL. There are unfilled "hospitality/tourism" jobs that aren't paying much which means they can't get enough people to work them. FL manufacturers very little, comparatively speaking. Lots of freight coming into the state, not very much freight leaving the state. It's common for trucking companies to deliver to FL and then go to GA or AL to find more freight. This is one of the slowest periods of trucking in years, nationwide. The media is unreliable and behind on what is happening now. Experienced drivers with perfect driving, working, criminal records are not getting hired quickly anywhere. There are trucking companies in FL. If you move there and things don't work out, having an address north of Interstate I-4 may make it easier to get hired by out of state OTR companies. Some companies won't hire drives with FL addresses. Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa/St-Pete, Miami are the bigger markets for trucking. FL may be among the least suitable states for a prosperous trucking career. Over supplied/under profitable.
