Anyone know a good steel / alum fabricator that they would recommend (to people they "like" - not enemies) that has reasonable rates?
I'm considering getting a custom boxes build that could store tarps/snow chains/etc... for a low step. I'm thinking somewhere along (2) 49" x 24" x 24". Nothing is etched in stones - considering contacting Bruners out of Joplin, MO but I've heard they're on the high side ($$$). I probably need few others minor things custom made but nothing too extravagant, although I want them looking nice. Anyone??
Custom boxes for step deck?

Since you are looking in Missouri
I have used Mike Richards Welding and Fabrication he does excellent custom work and is real close to the I-70 (Iowa 80) Petro in Oak Grove MO. He has fast turn around and does quality work at really reasonable cost. He has a great shop set up and can work inside on most trucks. I stopped by one day to drop off a fuel tank bracket and he had fire truck inside. Real good guy,Last edited by a moderator: Apr 26, 2014

Pro tech made my custom boxes and the generator enclosure. Nice work at a reasonable price.
24"x24"x49" is a nice size box. Were you going to have that made with one drop down door or duel doors.
Do not forget to have them make the brackets also.SHC Thanks this. -
I'd go to my neighbor across the street from me. He's got his own metal fab shop.

Merritt equip makes a 24x24x48, might be cheaper than getting a custom one. Merritt boxes are very good, no water gets by the seals on the doors.

Pro-Tech and Sturdy-lite make custom boxes, and their prices are reasonable as the one's they mass produce.
I personally will only buy Bawer stuff from now on tho. Their quality and design are the best I've seen yet, and I like stainless-steel, sicne it does not need polishing and the prices are the exact same and sometimes cheaper.
