I have my own authority but I am also leased to a company and pulling their trailers. If I get stopped for a DOT inspection and there is a problem with the trailer will that hurt my score or go against the company?

Well I think since you are pulling it you are on the line for it.
-
the inspection goes to whoever's dot number that is on the side of the truck
-
By the way, it's CSA, not CVSA. CVSA stands for Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance. They're the group that came up with the inspection criteria for the sticker on your truck
CSA stands for Comprehensive Safety Analysis. This is the stupid regulation that created some formula to compare safety ratings of one carrier to another. -
Csa doesn't exist anymore http://www.ttnews.com/articles/basetemplate.aspx?storyid=40241

Thanks for the info.
One more question.
In our situation who's dot numbers do we display, ours, theirs, both? -
You are only supose to show 1 set of dot numbers. I ran 2 before and was warned. I also took the hit for the minor air leak. The company I ran for had a horrible CSA score so I gladly took the hit since it would have been a stupid amount of papper work to continue to run for them.
zx150 Thanks this. -
