Here are my notes from Freymiller recruiter:

Orientation: straight to a trainer’s truck when hired
Training: 6-8 weeks depending on your learning curve
    $450/week during training
Starting CPM 42 with a raise to 43 after 7 months
    Detention after 2 hrs @ $12.50/hr, max of $125
    Tuition $100/mo
1 to 4 CPM performance bonus paid monthly
Hometime 3 full days for 3 weeks out. Day you deliver and go home doesn’t count

They don’t go to the NW. Bummer. If Im going to be an OTR driver, I want to go to where the scenery is breathtaking.

I’m also looking at Melton. OTR to all 48. 46 CPM starting off. 51 CPM at one year, nice T680 trucks.

What is worse, sitting at a receiver for 6 or 8 hours in air conditioned comfort waiting to be unloaded, or tarping a load for an hour in 98F? That is the question.

Tarping isnt that big of a deal once you learn how to work with them. I did 6mo in a dry van and that sitting around waiting gets really really boring.

I agree...and I've made my decision based on that. Besides, I've called into Stevens recruiting several times and left messages. No returned phone calls, if you can believe it.

Another door opened up for me. More on that later...after orientation. I'm keeping my mouth shut from now on. :D

Contrary to what they tell you, all they seem to look at is the drug test. If its clean you're gtg. People are way too eager divulge everything about themselves for some reason.

Your past issues, only you know about those. So #### and you'll be fine.

Yes indeed. Now, I look at myself in the mirror each morning and yell, "I wish you could just shut your big YAPPER!!!"

TransAm is dangerous all the way. I know a driver that went to them. He was a rookie. He didn't want to tough out Transport America's training for one more week so he could get trained right. He ended up leaving them to go to TransAm. They weren't even interested in having company drivers. They push the lease purchase hard as hell. Me and buddy of mine went so far as to call them. They said they weren't hiring company drivers but the lease program had ridiculous truck notes and deductions, with a pay of $1.04 per mile. Tell OP to run away from them fast if he considers them!!!!!!

I did when I saw the $0.25 per mile starting pay. Won't ever do lease purchase. Thanks for the heads up.
