Quick update. Finished training. They put me in a decent 2012 international. Only thing I don't like is that it is an automatic. Running really good. 2500 miles a week. Home every weekend. Just sent in my paperwork for insurance. Things seem to be good here at cypress. I've got no complaints so far...well maybe just one. These tarps are heavy as ####.

How is it going Drifter? I am in Fort Worth and considering Cypress.

Still going good. I don't sit waiting for loads. You should be able to get home weekends living in Ft Worth. I haven't been here long but i really like it so far .i can try to answer any specific questions you might have. If you do give them a try let me know we get a bonus if you use my name on the app.

Im also in the dfw area and looking into them. Anybody from this area working there now?`

platinum Thanks this. -
Whats a few things you dont like?

Trucks are set @ 65.
Honestly my only complaint is heavy tarps. But most of our loads are pretarped at the shipper.
98% of my runs so far have been from sweetwater to the Austin area.
Not much variety in loads and you run the same route back and forth nearly every day. I don't mind at all but I know some drivers get bored with it. But it's an easy 2500 miles a week. Getting home on Friday and leaving out Monday morning.123456 Thanks this. -
I'm in trucking school & I inquired with one of the teachers about Cypress. He said that one of their teachers left his teaching job (@ the driving school for those of you who weren't paying attention) & he went to go work with Cypress. That says a lot for Cypress. I am strongly considering them & will update once I've made my choice (assuming it's with them). I agree with an earlier post that good pay is better than good equipment (as long as it's safe, decent & DOT satisfactory)...

The equipment is good. The mechanics stay on top of things. There is one old FLD in our abilene fleet but the driver loves it and won't give it up.

Hey Drifter379 hows it going up at Cypress man? i live in the central texas area too and im thinking about going up there for orientation at abliene. do you ever get to leave texas or is it mainly like a dedicated run from a specific shipper? and are the miles coming in pretty good a week?
