The DAC I'm looking at is about a year old but they should all be about the same.
It should start out with your license information followed with tickets in how ever long they went back then you will see any Felonies and Misdemeanors if they looked for them. (NOTE: Some companies will do a NCIC or whatever it is called and do a full criminal back ground check and it should be next) then the reports from other companies. They are pretty much explanatory. The company name then if they will rehire and the reason for termination, then any "reportable incidents such as Hit Another, Backing, side swipe, rear ended, hit by another and on and on. I don't think the numbers mean anything but if you need to know look back at the HireRight website and either look for a FAQ or send then an inquery about what the numbers mean. Then let US know!

I think DAC should not be legal for employers to use. Its easy to make false reports on someones report, and if you are that someone its hell to get it removed. It can be heavily based on option and not fact....and I am not sure if its state specific, but a company can only verify dates of employment, salary, and if you are ok to be rehired with the company. I don't think its legal they state why you left the company. For me the biggest problem is the room for opinions and former employers to bad mouth you and in return making it very hard if not impossible to find work.

My .02 is if DAC/HireRight is going to keep on in business the gooberment should make it where DAC does NOT pay companies anymore to post reports and also they should make it where the company reporting has to WRITE out the report in 500 words and drop the click on the buttons crapola!

They do this and that bottom feeder DAC/USIS/HireRight or whatever they call themselves this year will be out of business in a month as there isn't a company that will file if actually COSTS them money to post on them!

There are a lot of screwed up things in trucking.... lawyers could have a field day with it if anyone cared enough to put forth the effort to change things. DAC is corrupt, and employers constantly take advantage of you and shaft you out of money. I've seen many times drivers making less then minimum wages due to company dispatch issues etc.. I have a friend training right now who due to a bad week of snow didn't make $200 in a week. Yet he spent hours and hours in a truck. The companies by law should have to pay you no less then minimum wages, and after 40 hours of time you should be getting paid time and a half, or miles and a half. I feel like truckers get so taken advantage of its not funny. DOT is worried about hours driven to avoid accidents etc.. but its the industry that drives people to drive so many hours because if they don't they would make peanuts.
