Yea, they have a process you can go through to fight that. I don't know how much time it would take though. The DBL I had was a D##k. After 1600 in afternoon you were screwed. Always unavailable. Hours to get events changed. He loved playing God. Screw that. As far as the truck goes. If your not using it, they want someone else in it. Or they want it back at the yard.

 

This doesn't sound like SNI... more like that dbl just has some "power" issues or something. You shouldn't have been let go, they will probably pick up the truck so it can run but that's about it.

Talk to the operations manager or even your recruiter.

 

Call Green Bay. Go over your DBL's Head. You have to get above him. Which shouldn't be to hard.

 

As far as the processes, look in the pumpkin book, its in there and the contact phone #'s.

 

FMLA says you have to be employed for minimum of one year to qualify for FMLA.

 

I think there's too many questions that remain, for any of us who drive for them to give you some insight.

How many days were you off before they came and got the truck?

Did you ask for time off under the Family and Medical Leave Act? If so, how long did you wait before you ask?

While I'm not sure this would be covered under that act. (I'm basing that on my interpretation only.) There is still a time limit and channel of communication that must be followed.

I had a family medical issue come up last summer that demanded my immediate attention. And to say I was rude with everyone I spoke to, would have been a complete understatement. And I'm still here.

But I did take my truck to the terminal.

 

How long did the truck stay home? Why didnt u just return the truck to the yard and go in and talk to your dbl or his boss? or leave it at the yard? If they had to come to you for there truck that can be classified as a abbodment and thats a major no in the trucking world.
