No, its correct.
You don't get more than one CDL You can't have cdl's.

 

When these medicines are in a system of a person that person is NOT eligable to drive a CMV. Or to gain a CDL until it has been proven that persons system has been cleared of such medicine twice the recommended cycles past the last dose taken.

These medicines among others have the power to fail a simple car driver and cause a DUI arrest on the spot should it be aboard your system. There is a simple eye exam given to DUI suspects on road side which will show that you have that drug inside your system and fail it. (Among other medicines capable of causing this as well)

I recognize you have previous experience. But I emphasize this industry has changed. You can have your anxiety medicine or you can have a CDL and drive without any medicine at all. One or the other.

I don't know how to be any clearer. Besides as of Jan 1 this year DOT will test for schedule two medication as well (Pain killers usually) among other things added to the older drug and alcohol testing previous to that date.

Metabolites of some anxiety medicines will show up as positive once processed by your liver. I don't have the details on hand to get into examples. One of my medicines turn into Morphine in the blood for a period of some hours as a pain killing agent and is passed from the body after about 8 hours and cleared out of my own system in about 30 hours after last dose. But because of the CDL rules as I presented in that CDL Life trucking Link, I would have to wait about a year before I myself has been off all of my own medicines before I can try to attain a CDL. (Which is not going to happen anyway)

I simply don't know how to be plainer. You can have medicine or you can be trucking without any medicine at all. That's a decision you will have to make. And then get it past the doctors who will check the State that you live in and it's pharmacy board's real time data base on the last script you filled for certain medicines such as for anxiety. Then add up the days since last dose. If you exceed that time. You have no medicine in you, and go get that CDL and happy trails. Right?

One or the other. But not both. Imagine this scenario. You take that anxiety medicine after pulling into the TA at night after 500 miles today. That one dose will be in your body 10 to 20 hours after disqualifiying you the entire next day and you cannot drive again until off that medicine 7 days. That is according to the CDL Life chart I linked to you specifically in that page for your specific medicine.

 

They dont test for benzos. you’ll pass the drug test, but if you have an accident and dont have it on your long form you’ll be in trouble.
