if the inseption ran out last month then its needs to be inspected. i dont think the step is a DOT problem, i ould be wrong, the fuel can probably is an issue, the grease on the airbag looks like it leaked off the 5th wheel. Depends on how your company is the step and the fuel tank need to be fixed, the grease can be wiped off to ensure the DOT dont question anything.
-
As long as that step is still firmly attached, no problem. The bigger concern would be the fuel tank straps. They appear as they may be loose, especially as the insulator is coming out. They should be checked for tightness and the insulator should be put back in place to keep the mount from rubbing through the tank.

Part of the pretrip in school was fuel tank secure not loose
i'm just sayin -
how are you asking us this question. as a company driver or the new owner of this truck..??
if you are a company driver, have the company mechanics repair any issues you have.
if you just bought this truck, how could you, seeing that the fuel tank has been moved out of place..??
if you bought this truck well darn it, have THEM FIX IT...!! in fact, i am not sure they can even sell a truck with an expired DOT inspection.
if it IS a company truck, then "NICELY" complain to the shop. be an arse about it, and they CAN AND WILL make you wait, or give you a "loaner" which may be MUCH WORSE...!!! -
I did pre-trip my question was is this a d.o.t violation that its I talked to my fleet manager today since the weekend guys didn't really know/care my fleet manager wants in a terminal when I come back to work. Was just curious if it was or could be a d.o.t violation incase my company trys to say other wise. And it is a compaby truck..

its fine gezzz! truck it up!

again expired inspect is not legal .....

if it passes the yearly inspection, you'll just be driving an ugly truck that needs a thorough wash job.politely point out the loose straps and ask to have the truck washed.
carry on driver.
okay.j/k on driving an ugly truck but the stains need to be washed off and strap needs attention.all in addition to the expired yearly inspection.
