I've heard about these d13 engines having issues with the bull gears needing repairs someone told me there is a bolt or alignment pin or something that gets loose and backs off? Normally the engine is still under warranty and I just send them to the dealer for repairs but this one is no longer covered due to mileage so I'm getting ready to pull the transmission and dig in can anyone help me with instructons on how to retime all the gears back there? Any help will be appreciated

The main shaft gear has two marks. The counter shafts have one each. Align countershaft marks to the marks on the main shaft gear. One set of marks in the front of the main box and one set in the tail section. I am referring to the transmission.

before you get into the gear train i would highly suggest you put the engine on TDC setting that's pretty simple there is a 0 mark on the flywheel and there is a TDC mark on the camshaft, once you have the 0 then check for tdc mark on top. then the engine will be where it supposed to be when you disassemble it. It's going to be a ##### to get this done as far as all the backlash setting and everything. It's been a while since ive done one of these but you need a volvo book in order to get it done or software to give you all the proper backlash settings. Maybe @ @DaveLV could help you with more information.

Anyone know the torque specs for the bolts back there? The nut backed completely off the bull gear and started rubbing on the flywheel housing the air compressor gear is shot also
