Question for any volvo techs. The egr valves have 2 oil lines one goes to the rear of engine at flywheel housing and another that goes to the oil filter housing but the 3rd line just vents to atmosphere I have one where oil is leaking oil out of the vent all over the starter does this mean the egr valve needs to be replaced?
D13 egr valve?

the answer from my foreman at our Volvo shop is yes.
letsgofast Thanks this. -
Yes The new ones the vent line is plugged all together so you can try plugging it and see where it goes worst case scenario you will need to replace egr which you have to do anyway if it works you are good
KB3MMX and letsgofast Thank this. -
I can tell you exactly what this is - its your OIL SPINNER - the round piece on the drivers side
and its clogged up and throwing oil all over - must REPLACE.
its expensive - * I found a used one from a good source and it it is still working
** make sure you keep an close eye on your oil level - keep extra oil on hand.
** FYI - Its NOT the EGR Line on the back of the engine ( passenger side ) ** -
letsgofast and Socal Xpress Thank this.
