    Truck is 2009 Volvo D13 with 650k miles. This truck was driven about a year and always passive regen was starting about every 3000miles. Now it started to ask "manual regen request", also every 3k miles, passive regen doesn't start.
    Why passive regen not working? Maybe should clean doc/dpf? Or replace doser?

    KB3MMX and Johny41 Thank this.

    Has the doser ever been cleaned or replaced? Is the parked regen taking the same amount of time as a passive regen?

    Need to make sure your doser (also called after treatment injector) is good. Replace for good measure especially if it's never been changed. Might want to consider replacing the sensors on the intake side, like the intake manifold and the EGR differential pressure sensors if your engine has those. There should be another sensor plugged in to the DPF itself, DPF differential pressure sensor, change it too if it hasn't been changed. They don't last forever.

    This is about all I know about this..

    The doser sprays the diesel fuel back to the DPF to be burned in a regen. The dozers get carbon packed at the tip where it sprays out diesel making its function weak or void. I know in a Cummins the coolant must be drained to service the doser, I would go head and replace, I would every 2 years just for good measure and the sensors every year, and the DPF delta once every two years. It's cheap insurance, keeps the filters happy, but to each his own. The Doser's in a Cummins are about $500.

    Yep, dif. pressure sensor first suspect; I keep one spare; I had many problems with this sensor, getting clogged ,bad readings, faulty harness ,was upgraded 2-3 times since I got my truck in june 07;I would try this first, 100-150$ ,easy to do it yourself, just be careful don't over torque the 2 bolts or lose the blue rubber seals in 2nd photo;

    I replaced that one. I bought this delta egr sensor, but the problem was wire to it with the plug. Dealer didnt want to sell it, said that they dont make these plugs anymore that I have to buy new updated venturi pipe with new delta egr sensor. Venturi pipe itself cost $300

    #22423053 is the Volvo part # for the harness that is used for the new sensor to adapt to truck so you don't have to buy the whole kit.

    Truck started to ask regen like every 400miles and need to run regen twice to complete it. So now we replaced doser injector. Everything went back to normal regen every 2500-3000miles.
