Well I can say that I think the dream of the open road is starting to slip away; I got my "DAC" report back from HireRight and at a first glance it looked good. The "Drug/Alcohol Disclosure" and "Transportation Employment History" came up clean ... HOWEVER, the "Inquiry History Report" (IHR) shows my time with a temp agency and one job at a call center (non-driving work) in particular dating back to 2005, for which I was let go for a failed drug test ("Drug Testing" is listed on the line below the job). Do trucking companies see the IHR as part of a DAC request? I'm guessing if they do I can kiss trucking goodbye. Any advice is greatly needed.

I do believe most of the larget carriers look at the complete report. You might not be hireable with the mega fleets, but there arr plenty of smaller carriers who dont use DAC. Even then, with the date, there might still be some larger fleets who would overlook it. I wouldnt say that all hope is lost, you just need to try all your options.

A failed drug test isn't good....was it pre or post accident or was it a random. That may make a small difference with some folks , but with most really "good " companies a a failed drug screen sends up a red flag. A BIG one , there are lots of drivers with clean records and no failed tests going after the same jobs that you will be trying for.......Might want to try another career choice.

Really good companies,
don't use DAC !!!

well almost all mega carriers wont touch you with a failed drug test. Reason being if u get in an accident and hurt someone and they pull ur record and see u failed a drug test back in 05. Thats gonna be big money for the person u hurt. You can try the small carriers but its gonna make it hard for u big time.

Sorry Tony guess I should have mentioned this was a post 90 day probation drug test for a call center.

There is NO national data base for drug test results.
YET !!!HotH2o Thanks this. -
i can't beleive a call center would actually DAC it.

It was more likely that the call center used Hireright for HR services including drug tests and it went on the person's record. Hireright is a pretty big company with a number of products other than just DAC.
