Hey, I have a question about DAC reports. About a year ago I went out with a trainer but had to leave after a few days. I had an emergency at home and had to leave abruptly. My question is, do you think this will be reported to my DAC report? I don't know whether or not to bring up this event when applying for a job today?

You'll be asked why you left the job, so just say you quit due to family emergency. Companies know any company you've ever worked for, so don't try to hide it.

Thanks, much appreciated

Contact Hire Right and request a copy of your report. DAC is owned by Hire Right.
tscottme Thanks this. -

It depends on how you handled the situation most likely. But since you weren't in charge of the truck it probably won't be anything as bad as a Abandoned Load or anything

That is your story and you are sticking with it.
It's possible it will get reported. The sticker is this. If you were alone with your assigned truck AND under a load dispatch, and up and quit and went home, they will write DAC for abandonment of truck and load. That will ban you from being hired potentially three years. They can if they really wanted to destroy you, keep adding stuff to the DAC which then you have to dispute and wrestle with every single employer for 10 years of your life. But you may not be allowed to drive a big truck again for a while if ever. -
Or find a employer running heavy trucks without a DAC anywhere...

Don't forget, that you may dispute the fact that you even worked for this company on your DAC report, with HireRight. This doesn't mean you're omitting it, it just means prospective employers will not see it on your DAC report. If that company doesn't respond--and they might not if they're big enough--HireRight deletes the information. I've done it before.
But always be upfront about DOT employment. It's the law, and if you conceal it, it just makes you look like you're hiding a positive drug test or an at-fault accident. An employer will respect your honesty if you haven't hopped jobs every 3 months since then. Sometimes, it just doesn't work out at a job, for personal reasons or because life just happens.
