DAC Report

    I applied with a trucking company this past weekend. A recruiter emailed me on Monday and said she would call me as soon as she ran my DAC report. I am a new driver, so I don't have a DAC to run. I figured it would be pretty quick. After not hearing from her, I emailed her yesterday to make sure all was okay. She said she was still waiting to hear from DAC and would call when she got it.

    How long does a DAC report take? Are they slow or am I getting the runaround?

    If they run criminal and your SSN it comes back in minutes. The MVR report takes a few min to an hour or so...

    I had a company run my DAC and it came back in less than a few hours. I do not know if this atypical or not.

    Well the thing here is this, although you may not have been a driver before, there are other industries that subscribe to DAC. (it is NOT trucking only). So you may be "in the system" from a past employer.

    If not, then they are probably doing the "usual quick" background checks on you. The FULL background checks, comes when they got you in orientation!!

    I would make PERSONAL phone calls, NOT emails. Emails can get over-looked, phones MUST BE answered.

    Got the orientation offer this morning. Just waiting for some more information about the company. Only info I can find is what is on their limited website. Tried searching for them on TTR and came up empty. Right now I have offers from Schneider, Roehl and LTI Trucking out of St. Louis. Hope to make a decision over the weekend.
