If you quit a company quit it correctly 2 weeks notice don't go burning your bridges and finish the loads you have coming to you and drop off the truck in the right place and you dac will always be correct.

not always true... i drove for swift and gave a two week notice, was never late on loads and delivered the truck to where it was supposed to be when i quit and then i recently applied to a company and they said they couldnt hire me because of my dac. its news to me thats for sure
BigRig0331 and Professional-Trucker Thank this. -
one thig you can do .. is when you quit one job, dont leave until you have another lined up... next if they say there is something on your DAC, go to hirerights website and order your dac.. its free and it takes about 6 days to get it ... got mine after almost 17 yrs in last week and read it for the 1st time ..

DAC has been an EYE SORE for years in the industry with letting Companys lie about drivers. They honestly Need a New company to do honest indepth fact findings about drivers.

Not all companys subscribe to dac and those that do not always report negative comments. Just recently the parent company of dac which I believe is hireright had a pretty large class action settlement payout. So if they do put negative remarks on your dac thats not true I wouldnt hesitate to invest in a lawyer to clear it up. I went to werner and was only in orientation one day and it was reported to dac..

I was just approached by another background investigation company [Tenstreet 'Hire Drivers Faster and Easier'] and one of their 'features' is that they do the DAC termination reports for the carrier!BigRig0331 Thanks this. -
Yes they can and do! This is usually limited to the mega-carriers. They have a habit of tarnishing drivers records then you have to fight it to have it removed. Its good to request a copy of your DAC from time to time to make sure that it is accurate and there are no false reports on it.
I personally have had this happen a couple of times, once in which I didn't even work for a particular company that made a false claim. A lot of mega-carriers you apply to that don't end up working for will put on your DAC that you attended orientation and they let you go. So be sure to check it on occasion.BigRig0331 Thanks this. -
I am the significant other of a driver. The company he worked for was rotten to the core...kept switching how they paid him (hourly vs. mileage vs. salary). He was involved in an accident where the trailer was caught in a cross-wind coming off a bridge - load shifted and the trailer turned over - as with that..the truck went with it... the police stated that this is something that has happened quite abit... witnesses say that the was not speeding...no one injured (except the truck driver)...no ticket given...but the company put it on his dac as "his fault". Can he fight this?

If I was fired from an outfit that put junk on my DAC report, I would sue them. It's called defamation of character. Also called slander. By putting false junk on your report, they are "black-balling" you, interfering with your right to earn a living.
If more people would sue these crooked outfits, this crap would come to an end. Don't take it in the shorts, fight back!critters Thanks this.
