They are merged with about 10 trucking companies also. Such as Wylie flatbed.

I KNEW this day was coming! I knew a year before I finally threw in the towel with Builders that the younger Philip's boys were looking for a way out from under the company!

What? Did Mr. Frank finally pass (hopefully quietly and without any pain or fear. Mr Frank was a ###### nice gentleman!)? Cause I know JP and Jr. were both either nearing retirement age or (in Jr.'s case well over), and I didn't see any trace of a third generation involved in the company.

I'm told Frank is still very alive and kicking. Word i hear is that since none of the boys kids want anything todo with it, the boys talked Frank intothe merger in order increase their value, plus $53 million plus stock, keeps the family well off

I knew the boys wanted out. I'd hear them talking to Billy in Pittsburgh. I sometimes wondered if they weren't occassionally sabotaging the company relationship with US Steel.

Now I just wanna know who tied Mr Frank down and forced him to sign ANYTHING. That company was his whole life and legacy.

I hope Daseke doesn't destroy it. Builders is still a decent outfit to run for, especially for a low experience flatbedder. Plenty of WTF loads with excellent support from the office and other drivers. At least, that was my experience.

You told me about those. And I know Billy in Pittsburgh went down to strictly part time due to health issues. Heck, the old boy is probably retired completely by now.

BTC was starting to come apart when I left. Honestly surprised they stayed independent this long.

Be real interesting to see the responses from the other major southern carriers. Especially P&S.

That there is a fella who needs some serious slow down time before he kills himself.

He got took down by a MAJOR heart attack last year. From mowing the lawn.

    ###### shame of it is, the ol' Wild Man himself can't afford to retire! He'll be booking freight and giving drivers directions at a million miles per second while the undertaker slides his old butt into the casket!
