Ive been spending a lot of time looking at potential types of trucking jobs and companies.
Ive got a clean MVR and recently received a CDL-A. No experience however.

Through various sources Ive come to the conclusion that LTL is the way to go. EX: http://www.thetruckersreport.com/truckerreport.html

Anyway Ive got this list of some of the best LTL companies to drive for. My goal now is to narrow the list even further and find out
which if these companies are the best of the best or if any of them actually aren't great companies after all.

Anyone have any input? Care to add any LTL companies to the list? Expert opinions needed. See list below which is organized in no particular order thanks!

    13. Con-way --very mixed reviews here

    14. Vitran Express --money losing LTL, wage freeze

    15. Saia A good company! -Decent company..mixed reviews

    16. R+L Carriers - Mixed reviews on them

    17. Central Freight --western regional LTL

    18. Southeastern Freight lines --Kinda regional LTL-Covers the south west to TX.. interlines with other carriers.

    19. Pitt Ohio Express -- Regional LTL...back east

    20. New England Motor Freight -northeast only regional LTL

    21. PJAX Freight Systems - Now Vitran --dont work here

    22. Milan Express- Now Vitran Express---- dont work here

Panther Expedite will hire with no experience.

Some of those union companies on your list will be absorbing the Teamsters drivers from Hostess. They will get first crack at those jobs.

Tri Corp Transportation. LTL in Dallas, LTL in Toronto, ON. Team drivers in very nice big shiny kw W900Ls and Pete 379/389s all decked out going between the two points. Not sure if they would hire with no experience or what their current situation is, but they always get respect going down the road. Drivers always seem to be happy. Check it out.

Southeastern freight has a terminal in Dalls and a brand new one in Ft Worth. Give them a shot, I work for them now in NC. Great company, hopefully will retire here.
