I wouldn't run OTR for anyone, at least the ones I have met in 23 years.
They are all bad...notorious for treating you like a robot, sleep when they say, not when you're tired. BS.
That's no way to operate 80,000 lbs.
Her your local gig when you can.
And, when your ready, can pay cash, have a big bank account and an even bigger credit line (use 2 different local independent banks), go get your authority and go buy a pre-emission truck. No ELD...run when, where and as hard as you want. -

FFE has a terminal in Lancaster. If you dont find anything else you can call them when you are sure you can pass a hair follicle.
Last I heard they start at 18.75 hr with lots of OT. I am not sure the driver I spoke to went over the road for 6 mos before moving local. But if you can't find anything else before then its worth looking at and calling them. They haul reefers... No pun intended.
But hopefully you can find something sooner.Lepton1 Thanks this. -
Do you have the link for the"between the yellow lines" thread??? Thanks in advanced'07 KW w/53' Conestoga Thanks this.

My former codriver who i dubbed the curb surfer in the CB thread worked over the road with FFE for about 6 months then easily landed a local job. Same with the local FFE guy. He did linehaul for around 6 mos if I remember right, then put in for a local gig same company and got it.
From from what I seen its not that hard to land a local job. My last codriver is good at backing, but otherwise... Lol
I could probably find something local now after being on the road about 7 mos, but im just not interested.Last edited: Nov 4, 2018

Thanos,
I searched high and low, I'll be darned if I can find this post!
I might not have the name quite right...between the white lines, between the yellow lines, between the dotted lines....I tried them all, as well as just advice for new O/O.
I'm sorry to say that nothing comes up.
I thought I had marked it so I could read...it was close to 1,000 entries. Basically, the trials and tribulations of a driver as he became an O/O. Real good, solid stuff...something you'd pay money for in paperback.
I'll get on my laptop later and see if I cant find it. Will let you know.Thanos Thanks this. -

Chinatown,
THAT'S IT!
I knew it had yellow in the title, not sure where I got "lines" from.
Man, you are an information resource extraordinaire!
There you go, Thanos.
It's a LOT of reading, but it is all good!!!
Thanks Chinatown!Chinatown Thanks this. -
Maverick will hire for home daily out of Dallas. It’s flatbed work and it pays like 55k to start. If you don’t need to drive necessarily, they also hire people to spot trailers and yard tarp for like 20 an hour and that’s home daily as well. I also live southeast of Dallas.
