Watch the weather channel or fox news and from my calculations they have onlt 53' trailers and the one that was on the left at maybe 0:07 when I stop the vid and m,easure it's at least 150' if an inch! I stopped counting trailers at 50 and by my calculations trailer loss for MTs will exceed $1,600,000 I didn't count tractoers or other damages! That's a bit of an insurance bill!

The tankers are more aerodynamic with wind passing by them, the van and refers are like wind sails and catch the wind, shooting them put in the air like 53 foot kites.

Reminds me of the "WRECK HOUSE" on the west coast of Newfoundland. The wind there has picked up full loaded trains and flipped then off the rail road tracks like nothing at all. No train in Newfoundland now. But when the winds are up, and some dump trucker does not hear the wind warnings, Ya see Heavy Trucks knock on it's side by the wind in no time flat.

Yeah right in the beginning u can see a black tractor go sailing thru the air. Also note that the film of the trucks/trailers flying around is from schneiders yard looking across the hwy to the T/A. So those were trucks over there, not the Schneider trailers u see later in the aftermath.
My uncle is with the TX DOT and he just told me that the Flying J lot is a mess and the T/A itself is basically gone too.dog-c Thanks this. -
The flying j is on the corner, and SNI is about a block away. Some SNI trailers landed in the fj parking lot and also across the hwy at the TA and the freightliner dealer too !!!!

Okay, that makes sense then.
When I lived in the Dallas area (1995-1999), I just did not happen to go by the truck stops or trucking companies' yards. That is probably why I am more familiar with the truck stops and one of the trucking company's yards in North Little Rock. Yep, I did travel cross country with my father in 1983 but I am sure at least some of the truck stops and the trucking companies' yards have changed since then. -
At least one of the Schneider trailers actually landed on a house in a neighborhood behind the yard, totally obliterating it!

Spokes person for Schneider claims that there was no major damage to the building. Wife and I spent many nights there at the Dallas OC, our prayers go out to everyone that was there and are both relieved to hear that there are no reported injuries at the OC.
On a lighter note... Some of those photos of the Schneider yard.... Most of those trucks were NOT decaled units which means they were out of service trucks due for the auction block, so it is a good thing to know that no one was sleeping in them when the storm hit. -
Schneider is self insured

No injuries or anything.....just a big mess. I am usually there on Tuesdays around that time, but our account is short on drivers so I had to make an extra run today....if not...I'd have a trailer sitting on my truck...I'm just sayin...
