Who are you getting your license through here locally? I live about 15 miles from Eastman myself and drive for another company that pulls in and out of there quite often. Nice to see some other locals on here

I am in school out in Fall Branch at CSS. I have another 2 weeks.
Talked to DHT today. Angela (recruiter) came by school. Moving right along.racemaxx24 and Steel Dragon Thank this. -
It isnt Landair is it? They where by there as well today. I know several guys that drive dedicated containers out of Eastman from Kingsport to Spartanburg everyday for them. Those guys make good money and are home every night or day. Whichever shift they end up on. But have to have 6 months otr before I could move if an opening came.
Just applied with DHT. Just gut feeling and from talking to a couple older drivers I think it's the best fit for me. Just praying the good Lord puts me where I need to be.
Most guys at my school are going to tanker companies. Seems there is about 4 different ones right there with alot of stuff coming out of Eastman.Need4Speed, dominic23 and Steel Dragon Thank this. -
I’m with SFS out of Morristown but they require 2 yrs experience to be eligible. I’ve heard that Landair has a pretty good gig with hauling cans but I’m happy where I’m at and the way we run so I haven’t much looked into it. As far as tanks go I know Tidewater has a terminal right off John B Dennis and Transport Service has a terminal on Jared Dr right behind the plant.
I can’t say I’ve ever talked to a DHT driver in person but from what I’ve read on here and gathered they seem to be a pretty good place to work. Can’t say I’ve ever seen a ratty piece of DHT equipment either on the road or at Eastman, that’s always a plus. Hope it works out well for you.dominic23, Steel Dragon and Vol61 Thank this. -
Man ain’t that the truth. Frank (my dm) asked me to to do 2 quick 200 miles runs in a day and said he would reward me. Sent me to swap outside of Memphis to Bristol va. Then mountain city to Raleigh va. Deadhead down to sc. Got a 2040 mile run and anothe 2000 mile run right after 4040 for this pay period. Son and wife packing bags now for vacationNeed4Speed and Flacrkr Thank this.

All honesty, Eastman is a big client with us and a lot of their load go into Mexico so we use newer trailers with them. We do have older trailers but our maintance program is tip-top. Because their load go into Mexico, we use newer trailers cause they are less likely to have issues on them that may require repairs before crossing and they have the driver do a pre checklist on the trailers for specific issues before taking them there. If your ever given the chance, read our trailer numbers. 12xxx-19xxx, these trailers have the manufacture year on the first two digits. Our older ones are 5xxxx. Still good but usually wooden interior and before 2010. Still have a few but peace of mind is that DHT is currently fading them out.

Way too true, waited a year with DHT before getting mine. Missed out on about $1000 extra for that year for not. Very funny that even though I have it. Still never pulled hazmat yetSteel Dragon Thanks this.

Did you tell them you want to drive at nights? If you tell them you DON'T like driving at night how good of a job will they do to make sure you won't be on the road overnight?

So no bad attitudes from anyone? No one gives you a hard time ever? I find this hard to believe.
Can any of you say anything negative about them?
