I thought DHT had a cap at how many days off you earned? I don't know why I was thinking 7 days was the maximum you could take off in a row with DHT. I guess I was mistaken about that.

I regularly stay out for 8-12 weeks. Usually take 12-14 off in a row. I really have no reason to spend 18 days at home. The nice part is.....park my Truck at the Terminal, leave all of my "stuff" in the truck, they will do any scheduled maintenance, repairs, tires, etc. while it is there. A few months ago I came back to 4 new drive tires and 2 new steers. Didn't have to ask. Drives probably had 6/32nds....... Steers had at least 8/32nds! They must have needed some trailer tires!! Lol

Yeah... I know... just meant to say that 7 days off is enough... :)
Actually, I would like to have 7 days off after my 3 or 4 weeks teaming... errr... I mean "training"...
So that I would have enough time to clean my assigned truck, go get all my things at the storage, organize them in the truck and rest for a couple days before going solo for 3 months.
But if they give one and half day off for each week in the truck, that wouldn't be possible.
I will call Mr. Recruiter again and try to clarify a few things...

It's definitely the ideal... when the terminal has a shop and you live close to it.:D
My last company was in OKC and I used to take "hometime" in TN.
All PMs were generally done on Fridays in their shop, in a hurry when they used to leave at 3 pm... :angry2: Not the ideal situation...
I used to pay $150 for parking in TN so that I could have safe parking for my vehicle during my time on the road and for the truck during "hometime".
Now I haven't found parking anywhere yet.
But still searching cause might need to bring truck to TN again...
Cause 2 hr driving between drop yard and my "hometime" location is not going to work...
If only Danny Herman had a shop in Lebanon...

Seems to be difficult to find a non smoker male or female trainer that trains females in this co.

I'm going to challenge this and suggest that it probably is management making this decision. If you observe the pay structure attached earlier in this thread you will notice how little they pay their trainees. And I have confirmed from other drivers there that their new "trainees" are used to run team. Why start someone with 11 years of experience at 50cpm on a solo truck when you can first squeeze a month of team driving out of them for 20cpm?? Pretty good bu$ine$$ if you ask me. The icing on the cake will be when the new hire with 11 years of experience gets paired with a "trainer" that only has 2 or 3 years of experience.

BTW, the pay for established teams at said company is an absolute joke. I've read a lot of people mentioning how the solo pay is a little bit lower than industry average or whatever, but to me that team pay sticks out like a sore thumb.
