Is that possible for a new driver after he/she passed the road test and officialy hired to request a manual truck?

Not sure about that. You would have to ask your recruiter.

We do have a few manuals but they are all older trucks, when you speak with your recruiter and/or terminal manager(they tend to have more pull as they assign the trucks). Most manuals are frieghtliners but there were a few KW’s. But just call them up to see if they can work with you but all honesty, it is slime due to the demand for them while the company plans to move forward with newer trucks.

One more thing, they tend to start you in a older truck just to feel you out as a driver. They give newer trucks to more seasoned and well rounded drivers. Sometimes you move right to a newer truck in a month and other times just whenever your truck is outdated. Even then, like majority of companies, teams have first dibs

Trust and believe, it does suck for a new driver with that paycheck. The lanes are so good and People just friendly with hardly and issue of dropping a dime on two on repairs gives me peace.

With every year of experience you have that’s a extra penny on top of that .33 plus a extra for hazmat. Not much but it pays the bills, feeds the wife and kid, and keeps the fridge stocked with beer for home time
